The fabric

Fabric: Indigo hemp-cotton twill
Where the fabric came from: Surplus from a workwear mill, the last two rolls of a discontinued shade
Composition: 55% hemp, 45% cotton
Weight: 320 gsm
Trims: None. The only fastening is a self-fabric tie.

All seams flat-felled, the way workwear is built

Hem 5 cm deep, so the skirt can be shortened without losing its weight

Living with it

Machine wash cold, line dry. Hemp softens for the first ten washes and then stays put.
